Respect! For YOUR concerns

Staff picking litter Picking trouble: our staff get stuck in to help make a better Parkway Green

YOUR concerns about antisocial behaviour and your ideas about how to improve life in the Parkway Green neighbourhoods are topping the agenda during local 'Respect Action Weeks'.

Key players from services that protect and strengthen our community are getting together locally to listen to, and act on your priorities for action against crime and the social problems that weaken our quality of life.

We've already hosted a week of debate and action in Brooklands and Baguley with the police, fire service, the council, health and environment workers, car-crime officials and others - with local residents' concerns shaping the agenda.

Crime down

Stopping litter and rubbish-dumping, along with providing constructive activities for young people are areas where people thought Parkway Green was making a real difference day-to-day.

There are hopeful signs according to Inspector Kevin Marriott of Greater Manchester Police South Manchester Division. Crime figures in Brooklands are down by 51 percent on the same period last year he says.

Watch out for the next Respect Action Week: 11-17 February 2008 in Northenden.
