Home hunting help
The right home for you?
We’ve changed the way we advertise our properties on Homefinder so applying for our homes is a lot more straightforward.
What does this mean for you?
If you are on the housing register, you will have a category that tells you which homes you can bid for. There are three categories. When we advertise our homes, we now say which category it is for. You’ll only be able to bid for this home if you’re in the right category.
Why it’s better for you
Before now, our home Homefinder ads didn’t state which category they were for. So you may have put in a bid for a home that didn’t match your category. This didn’t make sense to us. So we changed it. Now you’ll know which category has been applied to each home.
How Homefinder works
You can look for all kinds of homes, in all Manchester areas, on the Homefinder website. Once you’ve found the home you want, you can put in a bid. Depending on your category (also known as priority) and queue date, your bid will then be judged against all the other bids. The property will usually go to the bidder with the oldest queue date. Find out more about how these categories work, and what are your chances, visit our new look for a home section.
Homefinder open day
If you haven’t got a computer or you’re not sure how to use Homefinder, why not come to our open day? We’ll take you step-by-step through the simple online process. We’ll help you make your bids. We can even tell you more about our rehousing categories and what this means to you. Come along on Tuesday 5 May, from 10am to 2pm, at Parkway Green House.
More ways to keep in touch
We'll also be holding open days every Tuesday from 10am to 12noon at Parkway Green House. So if you have any questions, just pop down.
