GMEC Awards Win
Picture shows – the Parkway Green team collecting their Clean Slate AwardParkway Green Housing Trust is delighted to announce it was selected as the winner of a 2010 Greater Manchester Employer Coalition (GMEC) Award for the ‘PG Turnaround' Project.
The Wythenshawe based housing trust was awarded the "Clean Slate Award" for reducing re-offending through real opportunities, sponsored by the Ministry of Justice.
Andy Bacon of the ‘PG Turnaround' programme was also shortlisted in the ‘Individual of the Year' category and recognised on the evening for his inspiring achievements.
The ‘PG Turnaround' scheme is a project developed with GM Procure to help get ex-offenders back into work with a 100 per cent success rate, through the provision of training, work experience and assistance with CVs and interview techniques.
Since it began in 2009 it's been going from strength to strength and was also recently shortlisted for a national Housing Heroes Award.
Andrew, who is part of the PG Turnaround Project, said: "It's a real honour to be recognised and for the team to win the award."
Parkway Green's Chief Executive Nigel Wilson said: "We are delighted to be recognised and to win the award. We all share enormous pride in seeing the Trust recognised for the hard work we are doing at such a prestigious event.
