Wythenshawe cricketers have been bowled over by a sponsorship deal that shows how our commitment to the local community is about more than bricks and mortar.
Wythenshawe Cricket Club has over 100 local children batting and bowling every week, in teams ranging from under-nines to under-18s. It fields three senior sides too. Our sponsorship has provided equipment and training tops for lots of the children, and has helped everyone by keeping overall membership costs down.
Targets
"We want to encourage as many youngsters as possible to play cricket; and we're particularly keen to get more girls involved" says club chairman Ian Hilton. "We have targets for increasing the number of women, and people from black and minority ethnic communities in the club. The Parkway Green sponsorship helps make these things possible."
