Blooming marvellous

Green fingers. Tenants' rep Wyn Casey left, and Parkway Green's Ian Gregg, show off a free hanging basket
More than 100 Parkway Green tenants have brightened up their homes with free hanging baskets.
It's all part of our contribution to Manchester's efforts in the Britain in Bloom competition. The Baguley area hasn't been represented in the contest before, so we teamed up with our building company partners to bring a splash of summer colour to local homes.
Parkway Green-fingered
We provided the 130 baskets while workers from Connaughts and Bramhall Construction, who we're using to improve homes in the area, put them up. Local people and representatives from Manchester City Council and the police got their hands dirty too when we planted-up and distributed the baskets in a special Parkway Green-fingered day on Monday 13 May 2008.
"It's really brightened up the area" says our director of communities and investment Ian Gregg. "And it's helped to bring the local community together too!
