Local MP Paul Goggins, Chair of the PGHT Board Cllr Tony Burns, Minister For Housing & Planning Rt.Hon John Healey MP and Parkway Green Housing Trust Chief Executive Nigel WilsonParkway Green Housing Trust celebrated their 12,000th home improvement in Wythenshawe with a visit from the Minister for Housing and Planning, the Rt Honorable John Healey MP.
The milestone was marked with a presentation from the Minister,
Chief Executive of Parkway Green Nigel Wilson, Paul Goggins MP and
representatives from contractor partners HT Forrest.
To date Parkway Green has spent just over Ł66.89m on improvements to
their homes since November 2006 as part of their Ł90m investment
programme in West Wythenshawe.
Mrs. Parry of Wincanton Road, was lucky enough to receive the
12,000th improvement on her home, she said: “I’m really happy with
the improvements to my home, Parkway Green and the contractor HT
Forrest have done a great job and I’m privileged to be the 12,000th
improvement”.
The Minister also took some time to meet members from ‘PG
Turnaround’, a scheme to help get ex offenders back into work,
through the provision of training, work experience and assistance
with CV’s and interview techniques. The project is going from
strength to strength and has recently been shortlisted for a
prestigious 2010 Housing Hero Awards.
Chief Executive of Parkway Green Nigel Wilson said: “I’m delighted
we have made our 12,000th improvement and that the minister was able
to come and see just some of the good work we are doing here in
Wythenshawe. Parkway Green have come a long way in a short space of
time and he was able to see first hand the real difference we are
making in the area and to peoples lives.
“We will continue to deliver our promises and do all we can to make
a difference and leave a lasting legacy in Wythenshawe. This has
only happened through successful partnerships with our contractors
and the co-operation of our tenants.”
Chair of the Parkway Green Board, Councillor Tony Burns, said:

delighted that the minister was able to come to Wythenshawe and see
the impact and difference they make to people’s lives”.
Paul Goggins MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East said: “Parkway Green

also by improving the wider environment and raising aspirations”.
