If you can't find anything on Homefinder, or you have been registered for rehousing for a long time you can, look at ways to increase your chances.

Choose more areas

Have you restricted your rehousing application to just one area? If it’s very popular you may not have a chance of a home for some time. The more areas you put on your application, the better your chances. See Our area, our homes.

Swap your home

You could find a new home quickly by exchanging with another Parkway Green tenant, or with the tenant of another 'not-for-profit' landlord - in Manchester or in other parts of the country.

Homeswapper is a free online system. It searches for tenants who live in the type of home you want, and who are looking for a place like yours.

Look at private renting

There are plenty of privately-rented homes in Manchester. Many landlords need a licence from the council - they only get one if they come up to standard. Others voluntarily get 'accredited' by the council, proving they're up-to-scratch. Find out more about Renting from a private landlord.

Affordable home ownership

Would you love to own your home but can't afford to buy on the open market? 'Shared ownership' might be right up your street. You buy a share of a property, and pay rent to a not-for-profit organisation for the remaining share.
