Baguley is about eight miles south of the city centre. It is west of Princess Parkway, mostly between Altrincham Road and Hollyhedge Road. Princess Parkway is a major route into the city from the M56 and the motorway network, so there's good access to Manchester Airport and other areas of south Manchester and Cheshire. It's also close to Wythenshawe hospital.

Living in Baguley

There are local shops in Baguley itself, a large Tesco supermarket on nearby Altrincham Road and a Habitat store on Southmoor Road. Timperley Village shopping centre is just over a mile away. The civic centre in the middle of Wythenshawe has more shopping, a food hall and a thriving market.

There are regular buses from the city centre to the hospital, although public transport is not so accessible away from main roads. There are job opportunities at the hospital, as well as the nearby Roundthorn industrial area.

The Forum centre is a modern, welcoming, safe and accessible building at the heart of community life - the place to come for leisure, learning and childcare. It has indoor leisure facilities including a swimming pool, gym, sports hall and fitness centre. There's a health centre, children's nursery, and a job centre.

Baguley is close to Wythenshawe park - one of the biggest and best in the city! There's a horticultural centre, pets corner, crazy golf, horse riding, bowling greens, pitch and putt, tennis courts, an athletics track, football pitches and much more. It hosts the Manchester Show in May, Family Fundays throughout the summer, and an annual firework and bonfire extravaganza.

There are around 1,100 Parkway Green homes - mostly built in the 1930s. About half of them are two-bedroom or three-bedroom houses. There is also a range of flats in small blocks, flats in multi-storey blocks, and some bungalows and maisonettes.
