We consulted tenants in 2009 about what environmental improvements you would
like to see around your neighbourhood.
Your priorities were to improve front garden boundaries and car parking. We are regularly
talking to tenant steering groups during the process, to make sure our design ideas are what
you want to see. We are now looking to start construction work and need to speak to all tenants
in the Royal Oak Phase 1 area to agree the designs.
Improving front garden boundaries will help your neighbourhood to look its best.
We plan to replace front boundaries where needed but keep any hedges where possible so
that the area still looks green.
We are aiming to provide you with a driveway if there is enough space in your garden.
This will help to unblock the streets and improve security for your vehicles.
There are three types of work we are investigating;
Design A: Front Boundary and Driveway, Low brick wall with piers and railings, Driveway, Vehicle gate.
Keeping it green: To keep the Garden City feel throughout the Royal Oak area we are retaining mature
trees and greenery wherever possible. Keeping it green, we are also trying out the idea of green driveways
in a small area of the estate.
Design B: Front Boundary, Low brick wall with piers and railings, Pedestrian gate.
