Home improvements update

We’ve passed the 8,000 mark, which means we’re over halfway through our home improvements schedule. Read on for more news on our progress.

So far so good

We’ve spent £45 million on over 8,000 improvements (8,049 to be exact, and increasing every week). What’s more, we’re making sure the work is thorough, not rushed. And with 96.6% of our tenants reporting that they are ‘satisified’ or ‘very satisifed’ with the work, we are sure that our hard work, friendly service and attention to detail is really paying off. New windows and doors

We’ve fitted 3,449 new sets of windows and doors so far. We’re fitting more around Oldwood Road in Newall Green and on Alfriston Drive in Brooklands. Next up for these home improvements will be Aldfield Road and Brooklands in Northern Moor. We’ll also be fitting out homes in Blackcarr Road and Spinney Woods in Baguley.

New kitchens and bathrooms

We’ve replaced 3,193 kitchens and bathrooms so far, with brand new fixtures and fitting that have been chosen by you. We’re currently working around Carrswood Road in Brooklands and Barry Road in Northern Moor. We’re also working in Brookway Court and Royal Oak Road in Baguley. Next, we’ll be fully modernising kitchens and bathrooms on Lawton Moor Road in Northern Moor and Moorcot Court in Baguley. We’ll also be fitting out the 229 Wimpey homes throughout Brooklands and Northern Moor.

New doors

So far, we’ve fitted 498 external doors (in addition to the door and window fittings). We’ll be fitting the next doors at Moorcot Court and Blackcarr Road in Baguley.

Other big changes

We’ve also made some great improvements to our flats, with an upgrade to 46 enclosed balconies. Plus work on communal area and heating systems. We’ve also replaced 764 water mains and provided 69 new roofs
