Local improvements, local workers

Opening doors: Our £90 million pound improvement programme has given local people their share of jobs and training. This is continuing under our environmental investment programme.

The massive home improvements we're doing are boosting the wider economic and social regeneration of the area.

With millions of pounds to spend, we're making sure local residents get their share of the job opportunities, the training and apprenticeships in trades and skills that our multi-million pound investment in local homes is bringing.

Wythenshawe trainees

We use a variety of building companies to carry out the home improvement work. Our contracts with them specify how many local people they should employ on each project. Bramalls and HT Forrest have all taken on trainees from Wythenshawe.

Louis Watson, one of the trainees, said "It's hard work but I'm learning so many useful new skills every day; it's a great opportunity to develop in the trade".
