Ending your tenancy
What you should do
Follow these rules if you are ending your tenancy: otherwise you may find it difficult to get another home with Parkway Green or other 'not for profit' landlords in the future.
-
Your tenancy must end on a Sunday. You must tell us you are
leaving at least four weeks before the tenancy ends.
If you give us less notice than this we will charge you rent for the weeks you did not give notice. For example if you only give three weeks notice, we will charge one extra week's rent. - You must return the keys no later than 12 noon on the Monday after your tenancy-end date. If you return them later than this, we will charge you one week's rent.
- You must not leave owing any rent - unless you have made an agreement with us to pay off your arrears.
- When you move out of your home you must leave the property, and any fixtures and furnishings, in good condition.
- Don't leave any of your belongings behind - we will have to dispose of them.
- Don't leave anybody else living in your home when you move out. You cannot pass on your tenancy to anyone else.
- You will have to pay for repair or replacement if you leave any damage that has been caused deliberately or by your own neglect. You won't have to pay for normal wear and tear.
- If you are joint tenants, any one of you can end the tenancy by giving us four weeks' notice. We do not legally have to allow the other joint tenant(s) to stay in the home - it depends on your circumstances and whether the property could be more suitable for another type of household (like a family for instance). But we will not ask you to move out of the home without a good reason.
