Repairs you must do yourself

Parkway Green must do certain repairs by law - on the structure of your home, on gas, electricity, plumbing, heating installations and so on. These repairs are free.

But there are other, smaller jobs that you must do yourself - although we will do many of them if you are elderly or disabled. And there are other repairs you must pay for if the damage has been caused deliberately or by neglect.

Examples of repairs you must do yourself

We will do jobs marked like this [PG] if you can't do them because you are elderly or disabled.

  1. faulty fittings not put in by the city council or Parkway Green (unless you have an agreement for us to maintain it) - such as cookers, fridges, showers, window blinds, window locks.
  2. replacement toilet seats
  3. hairline cracks in plaster
  4. broken or missing edging on a kitchen unit [PG]
  5. broken clothes post. [PG]
  6. broken or missing plugs and chains for a basin or sink. [PG]

If you order one of these repairs, we will ask you to do the work yourself - unless the repair is marked [PG] and you are elderly or disabled.
