Keeping the green in Parkway Green!

Our area is one of the greenest in Manchester; full of trees, open spaces and flourishing gardens. After all, Wythenshawe was first designed as a 'garden city'.

And we're determined to make it an even greener and more pleasant place! Our dedicated neighbourhood officers are always out and about on the estates making sure gardens are tidy and hedges are trim.

Watching out

"We really watch out for the environment," says Bryan Fitzsimons, eight years in the job. "Whether it's dealing with dumped rubbish, talking to someone who drives over a grass verge or responding to complaints about an overgrown hedge."

"Most people really look after their gardens and the environment round their home. But we need to remind a few about the rules and how their behaviour can spoil the area for everyone else."
